Why Use A PowerPoint

power pointIf you have a presentation to give to a large group, then consider using custom PowerPoint presentations instead of simply giving a speech that might put someone to sleep. One of the reasons to use a PowerPoint is because it gives you a little bit of added security while you’re in front of a group. You can add notes to the bottom of the slides that only you can see. If you forget what you’re talking about, all you have to do is look at the slides and read the information. Sometimes, the slides can help you get back on track with your speech.

Your audience probably won’t look at you as much as they will the PowerPoint. Add a few detailed graphics, and the audience will think that you’re a professional even if you don’t know a lot of information about the topic. If the people in the back of the room can’t hear you, then they can simply read the slides to see what you’re discussing. A PowerPoint will help keep the audience awake, especially if you include large numbers, pictures and sounds that go along with the pictures. There is usually no time limit on how long the presentation has to be, and if you get to the end of the time allotted, all you have to do is speed up through the remaining slides to get them covered.
